The Lindsay Institute for Innovations in Caregiving and VirginiaNavigator have hosted Caring for the Caregiver Hack events for Virginia college students.

Each event involved student teams from Virginia colleges and universities representing diverse multidisciplinary educational backgrounds. Students participated from the fields of geriatrics, nursing, occupational therapy, physical therapy, education, computer technology, and engineering.

Each student team competed to develop technology tools to help family caregivers maintain their physical and emotional well-being. Often technology was developed that also provided benefits to the person receiving care.
